Continuing with courage…
I had the incredible opportunity to return to my old primary school—not as a student, but as a speaker. Standing in front of the very classrooms where I first began to learn and grow, I shared my story with the next generation of curious minds.
I spoke about what it was like learning there, the challenges I faced, and the memories that shaped me. I also opened up about living with autism—how it’s part of who I am, and how it’s helped me see the world in a unique way. I talked about the moments I felt misunderstood, and the ones where I discovered my strengths, especially my love for making people laugh.
One message I wanted to leave with the students was this: kindness is powerful. It doesn’t cost anything, but it can change everything. Whether someone is struggling to make friends, feeling different, or just having a tough day, a kind word or gesture can make all the difference. I encouraged them to be the kind of people who lift others up, who listen, and who include.
This visit reminded me how far I’ve come—and how much further I want to go. My journey is still unfolding, and I’m proud to keep sharing it. From writing Cracked as a Crab to speaking at schools, reading my books in preschools and kindergarten, I’m learning that every step forward is a chance to connect, inspire, and grow.
Here’s to continuing the journey—with courage, compassion, and a whole lot of heart
